Half Term Break nearly over !!!!

Yes I'm afraid to say that today Friday 2nd November is the last day of the Autumn Half Term Break at CFP. So make the most of the weekend to get out (even in the cold !!!)- make sure that this weekend you are careful to observe the Firework Code and please let an adult open and light Fireworks - Be Safe.

As of next Monday 6th November we will all be back in school preparing to give our all as we approach the dark nights of November/December, building up to the magical time of Christmas at Cefn Fforest Primary. There are many exciting things coming up this Half Term and I would urge you not only to make sure that you read all letters coming from school but also 'BookMark' this page in order to ensure that you can be first to here any new snippets of information that may emerge as we head towards the festive season.

All of the teachers and support staff hope that all pupils have had a good break and will be ready willing and able to make progress in the next few weeks - we are all sure that you can.

We will see everyone on Monday morning promptly for the bell @ 9.00 a.m. !!!

A Very Important Person visits Cefn Fforest Primary School

Today at Cefn Fforest we welcomed a very important person ( and his son). Our special visitor was Mr Dapo Akanbi, who is an Ambassador from Nigeria.

The reason for Ambassador Akanbi's visit is that he is in Wales visiting his son Kay( picture below) and his family. Kay is Mrs Mortimer's son in law.

He very kindly agreed to come into school and speak to our younger pupils, explaining not only what Nigeria is like as a country, but also telling us about some of the jobs an Ambassador does as a representative of Nigeria's President.

We learned a great deal about Nigeria today including what the country's flag is like.

The pupils throughout the Infant and Junior School asked some excellent questions and gained a great deal of information this morning. Ambassador Akanbi was introduced to our new School Council representatives from Year 3, 4 and Year 6. Later he also met 3 of Cefn Fforest Primary School's Year 6 Journalists.

The Junior harvest in full swing with Rev Roy on the left before he told us how God surely enjoys a party, as he gave the Jews 3 Harvests throughout the Year. We sometimes forget the effort needed to bring us the food we eat. ( Mr Gannon said that we can't have 3 weeks off to celebrate 3 harvest as the early christians did !!!! shame...)
